THE FESTIVAL
A genuine cultural experience, fun, music, arts & dance
The JAYNII FESTIVAL

What started as a small gathering of drumming and dance to entertain and train vulnerable young ones in deprived communities of Accra, turned out to be a registered Jaynii Streetwise Organisation www.jayniiwise.com a not-for-profit organisation in Ghana that provides the welfare of these less priviledged young ones through Education and Entertainment. Emmanuel Quartey, a versatile musician from the fisherfolk area of Accra, and Naa Borkor Quartey, a creative choreographer and dancer picked these young talents and started the project, and now here we are

DZEN NII ( as coined JayNii ) is a GA word for the indigenes of Accra meaning Tradition or the life style of a people. GAs are fun-loving, very loyal, loving, caring, sharing and welcoming people, who have given their lands for governments in Ghana to use for the development of the nation. They welcomed and accept all people from all region to settle and live together as one. So, hosting people from all over the globe to this centre of the world to have fun, create and network for further development is not only in the right direction but an amusing one.

The JayNii Festival hosts the world at the centre of the world to produce rhythms of the world on indoor and outdoor stages, run intimate hands-on workshops (exchange programmes) to offer artists the platform to make use of their creativity and promote their work. Thereby making new friends, exploring, instilling, developing, preserving, exposing and promoting arts and cultures of the world, peace, unity and development.

Understanding culture helps one to show reverence to the past, experience the now and imagine the future.
To have a genuine experience, join us as we move together, amidst and beyond the music and dance, tour different historic and interesting places, meet the warm and ever smiling people of Ghana amidst a colourful and electrifying atmosphere as you enjoy good music and cool down at serene beaches.

Being impregnated with the idea for over a decade to promote talents in a not-rich but very friendly neighbourhoods, Emmanuel finally broke out of the shell with the first event in 2012 in the Jamestown community. Reaching out for other communities to enjoy the fun, Nii Quartey is moving the event to other locations in Accra.

My fervent desire of bring people together, to make the world a happy place for all, led to this events and I never regretted I did. It has always been great ! – Emmanuel Quartey
Groups are hosted in hotels and hostels. One can also choose to do homestay with the people, interact with the Streetwise kids and see the other side of life.
